About Us

Lead the Way K9 Training is a Licensed & Insured family owned business that offers outstanding dog training and structured boarding/day care services to the greater Columbus area. Lead the Way K9 Training is based out of Delaware, Ohio and we help create balanced relationships between humans and dogs through leadership, obedience, behavior modification and socialization. The key to creating a successful dog-human relationship is that the training you learn continues to be applied, even after our sessions are over.

My name is Brittany, co-owner and Trainer of Lead the Way K9 Training! As far back as I can remember I have always had a strong passion for working with dogs. I truly feel blessed to be training dogs every day, and making a difference not only in dogs' lives but most importantly the families. Our Philosophy at Lead the Way K9 Training is a balanced approach. We know every dog is different, so we treat each dog as an individual, and with tons of care. I focus on creating relationships with humans and dogs by utilizing basic foundational obedience, leadership, and state of mind exercises. Behavior problems often times develop from a lack of structure and leadership within the dogs home. If we focus on the daily foundational exercises, structure, balance, accountability, along with corrections for behaviors we don't like, and rewards for things we do, most bad behaviors will become a thing of the past. No matter what the challenge is, we will tackle your dog's issues head on and make a difference in both your lives. We look forward to working with you and your dog(s). Training & Experience

Brittany attended T3, which is an elite training program that teaches modules at multiple Train the Trainers. Train the Trainers are unique workshops focusing on balanced training methods and behavior modification.

Train the Trainers workshops are taught by Jeff Gellman of Solid K9 Training (canine aggression specialist), Sean O’Shea of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation (an internationally-recognized dog trainer and dog behavior expert who has studied with and assisted Cesar Millan), and Victoria Smith of Take the Lead K9 Training. Brittany has also shadowed and trained with the very talented and successful Victoria Smith of Take the Lead K9 Training. Brittany learned valuable business and hands-on dog training skills from her time in Orlando, Florida with Victoria.

Brittany has put herself in the position to be of great help to the dogs and owners in her community. She looks forward to helping you develop a stronger bond with your dog.
